Welcome to 2025. It’s a new year, and more importantly, rates are lower than when we started 2024 — as SBA borrowers, we couldn’t ask for much more (except for more rate cuts!).
Many folks enter the new year with resolutions to stop drinking soda, to start using the Peloton as more than a drying rack, or to delete the DoorDash app.
But for my fellow business owners, hard pivots like those aren’t very effective (nor are they that effective for individuals either…). Instead, we have to keep grinding out 1% improvements, day after day.
So instead of making some grand resolutions for the business, let’s focus on getting the flywheel turning again. After the holiday break, it may have screeched to a halt. Overcoming the friction to get a flywheel back in motion is the hardest part — so, let’s do it together.
Here’s the vision:
For the next 30 days (excluding weekends/holidays), I will post one action you can take on your business in the 30-Day Business Owner Challenge section of this newsletter.
These will be easy, quick little initiatives you can implement. They should take anywhere from 5 to 60 minutes, depending on how much of a perfectionist you are.
You do it, and fill out the attached Google Form telling me you did it — that’s the accountability step. And just like that, you pushed on the flywheel a little bit.
The next day, you’ll get a new action post, along with a short summary of how others completed their action (assuming anyone actually does it…).
That’s it.
